SUMMER GOLF PROGRAM

For Boys & Girls Ages 12 & under

Our 2021 Summer Golf program begins on Wednesday, June 9 and lasts thru Thursday,
July 29.  Program offers more learning opportunities, more playing
opportunities, and more individualized instruction.

Instruction will be led by PGA Professionals and Certified US Kids instructors Douglas Dunbar and Brent McGrew.
Together, they have combined experience of over 50 years in developing and mentoring young players as they 
travel the pathway to success.  U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coaches are recognized as experts in teaching golf
to kids ages 12 and under.  In 2020, Coach “B” was selected as one of the top 50 US Kids instructors worldwide. 
As part of the new 2021 program, players will receive easy to follow instruction booklets
“The Simple Path to Learning Golf”. 
These Player Pathway Manuals outline an easy-to-follow curriculum that is perfect for kids, parents, and coaches. 
This program provides participants a clear path from a beginner to becoming a more advanced player. 
Participants ages 8 & under will receive Level 1 and 2 booklets, ages 9-10 will receive level 2 and 3 booklets, and 
ages 11-12 will receive level 3 and 4 booklets. Each level includes achievement pins for full swing, short game,
putting, course management, scoring, plus a Master pin for completing each level.  US Kids logoed
caps and visors may also be purchased at The Van Berg Family learning center at the discounted rate of $15.

Groups / Times

Wednesday & Thursdays
6 – 8 years old  (8am to 9:30am)
9 – 10 years old  (9:30am to 11:00am)
11-12 years old  (11am to 12:30pm)
 * On Thursday’s parents are welcome to come out and start developing the parent-caddy relationship.
 * Both instruction days and play days will be held at the Van Berg Family Learning Center.

Program fee of $145 and $75 per Additional Brother or Sister includes:
Five weeks of PGA instruction, 5 weeks of skill challenges and on course instruction, complimentary golf @ Van Berg Family Learning Center when accompanied by an adult (kids will be allowed to play by themselves after successful completion of the program), driving range pass and bag tag, booklets and achievement pins, tee shirt, player’s YOC card that allows kids to play at participating courses for $4 to $5, and 10% off on all US Kids clubs and apparel. Also includes a season-ending scramble w/ pizza and prizes!

Race to the “Optimist Cup”

Each week competitors, based on his or her score, will earn points within their respective age groups. The winners in the race to the Optimist Cup are determined through a series of six 9-hole events for regular points and three 18-hole “major” events in which double points are awarded. The top point earners in each age group will have their name permanently etched onto the Optimist Cup.
