Quail Run Couple’s League
                     2012

      Based on feedback, several changes will be instituted and the following guidelines will govern the 2012 couple’s league.  After taking a few minutes to read over them, I encourage anyone with questions or concerns to please send an e-mail to:

Couples League Questions

Couples league is currently scheduled to last 16 weeks with play beginning on Sunday, April 15th with a 4:00 shotgun start.  There will be no league on June 17th or 22nd.      

FORMAT:   The league will consist of a maximum of 24 “regular” couples.  Two different couples will team up each week to form a 4-person team.  These teams will then scramble against each other, with a handicap, in order to determine weekly winners.

SCORING:   Couples will be awarded points based upon their weekly finish as follows:

1^st…40          2^nd…36          3^rd…32          4^th…28            5^th…24          
6^th…20           7^th…16          8^th…12          9^th… 8           10^th… 4                                

     All ties each week will split points.  The couple with the most points at the end of the season will receive a beautiful plaque recognizing their victory.  League champions will also receive an invitation to the Club Champions dinner in October.

SUBSTITUTES:    Any approved guest(s) of Quail Run may substitute.  Couples utilizing 1 sub will receive 75% of their earned points and couples requiring 2 subs will receive 50%.  A list of potential subs will be made available and couples using subs should notify the Golf Shop as soon as possible as preparation for each week’s play is completed several days in advance.

HANDICAPS:   Couples team handicap will be assigned each week based on each team members’ individual home-course handicap.  If you do not have a current handicap, one will be assigned until an official one can be established.

WEEKLY PRIZES:   Golf Shop credit totaling $100 will be awarded each week and closest to the hole on all par 3’s will be worth $5 each.

SEASONAL PRIZES:   At the end of the season, total accumulated points will determine the league champions.  The top 6 couples will split the seasonal prize fund.
 

ENTRY FEES:   One time season entry of $20 per couple with a weekly entry fee of $20 per couple.  Weekly entry fee includes cart and weekly prize fund.

DINNER:  Couples will have the option to order dinner (hamburger, chicken, fish, or steak) before going out to play.  Dinner priced accordingly.

SCHEDULE:  Each couple will be assigned a team number and then be paired each week according to a round-robin schedule:
