The junior golf program will run from Monday, June 23rd thru Wednesday, July 23rd.
Participants will see several changes for 2008 as kids involved with the new program
will now clinic and play on the same day.   The different age groups and
meeting times will be broken down as follows: 

Boys & Girls (ages 6 to 8)…This age group will meet from 8:15am-10:30am on Mondays @ Quail Run.
Boys & Girls (ages 9 to 11)…This group will meet on Mondays from 11:00am-1:30pm @ Quail Run.
Boys & Girls (ages 12 to 14)...This group meets on Tuesdays from 9:15am-12:30pm @ Quail Run.
High school golfers (ages 15 to 17)…This group meets on Wednesdays from 8:30am-Noon @ Quail Run. 
 

The first week of the program will focus on applying certain rules as they relate to safety, etiquette, and respect, which are
essential to the enjoyment of the game. The following 4 weeks will be spent learning and applying the basic fundamentals of golf, which are Stance, Alignment, Ball Position, Grip & Grip Pressure, Posture, and Club Release, and how they relate to the swinging of the club. This is all in preparation for the 2008 City Junior Golf Championships will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 16th & 17th. 

A final schedule of groupings and meeting times will be mailed to all participants by June 15th. 

Kids participating in the program may also play at Van Berg free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
This offer is good until school starts in August.

EQUIPMENT

When it comes to clubs for kids, there are two main areas of concern....grip condition and club length.  Equipment should be checked for these 2 factors as one is just as important as the other.  Should you be in need of any help, please ask!  I have plenty of old clubs that can be cut to length and properly re-gripped…. 

(Due to a shortage of putters, parents will need to make sure that their children have one).
