| 2010 Quail Run Ladies League...Begins Tuesday, April 13th
The Tuesday evening ladies league is handicapped (ladies without a handicap will be assigned one until a new one can be established) and designed to create a fairly level playing field, despite the ability involved. It also gives our women the opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves in an organized, social atmosphere.
The 2010 Tuesday evening Best Ball league will begin play on April 13th and end on August 24th. Each week the top 4 teams, with the lowest net (w/hdcp) scores (stroke-play) against the field, will split $100 worth of golf shop credit from the prize fund. Closest to the hole on the par 3’s will be worth $10 credit each. In addition, the top 7 teams with the most accumulated points at the end of the season will also split $600 in golf shop credit. Teams will also accumulate points each week by competing a 9-hole match-play format against the 2-lady team that they’re paired with on that particular evening. Teams that win their match each week (with both regular players present) will receive 10 points. Should the match end in a draw, the points are split. Teams winning with 1 sub will receive 75% of the earned points while teams with 2 subs will receive only 50%. Double points will be awarded on the final week of play and both regular team members must play in order to receive double points. If a team member must be absent, anyone with a current handicap is eligible to substitute.
The one-time seasonal entry fee is $40 per team and the weekly entry fee will be $3/lady plus cart (non-passholders add $12.75). If you’re unable to play as a regular but would like to sub occasionally, please let us know as a list of potential subs will be distributed among the regular team members.
By April 11th, regular team member’s will have received an information packet containing the roster of regular teams, the 2010 round robin schedule, the weekly and seasonal prizes available, league guidelines, and the sub list. Weekly results and current standings will be posted in the golf shop as well as e-mailed to those that have addresses on file. Also for the women of Columbus, on Saturday, April 3rd, there will be a free ladies clinic at 1:00pm on the Quail Run driving range (you do not have to participate in the league in order to attend the free clinic). This clinic will be for women that have never played or kept a score for nine holes.
On Sunday, April 4th, we will hold another free ladies clinic for those women that have some experience and would like to improve on their game. Once again, you do not have to participate in the ladies league in order to attend the free clinic.
